We now have our tickets for the Paralympic Games the Break will be from the 3rd-5th September 2012. We will be spending a day in the Olympic park and a day in the Excel arena. Both days will be filled watching different sporting events.

PROPOSED CUTS TO THE DLA BUDGET

Some customers have reported being worried that their

 Disability Living Allowance (DLA) may be cut by 20%.

Breakway Holidays has investigated Government plans

and can confirm this is NOT the case. The Government 

is reforming the system (the new law to do so has not

yet been passed) and hopes to save money overall.

 However, that does NOT mean the amount of money

 you receive will be reduced.

The Minister for Disabled People, Maria Miller MP,

recently said, "We are dealing here with a benefit which

 is one of the largest benefits that's paid in the UK and

 that we need to make sure it's getting to the people

 who need it most."
The Department for Work & Pensions have also

 issued a statement:
"The system we have at the moment is not fit for purpose

 and is failing disabled people."We are reforming welfare

 to make sure that the billions we spend on benefits goes

 to those who need it and that for the first time disabled 

people get proper help and support to live independent

lives..."

Happy New Year everyone!
The office is busy taking bookings for this year and we are already full on some of our holidays.
If you are feeling a bit low after the busy festive season why not be one of the first to travel with us this year and come away with us for a pick me up to France for Granny’s Kitchen. This is a great holiday making yummy treats to eat there or to bring home with you for gifts. You will also get to shop in a French supermarket where you can buy some French food and drink to bring home. Staying in our lovely French farmhouse with a warming log fire and cooking on our traditional aga is just the thing you need when its cold outside.
